Heather B - Takin' Mine (1996)

Heather B, a female MC from Jersey City who reminds me oddly enough of Lady Of Rage (Known from Snoop Dogg's platinum 93' album "Doggystyle"). The Solid Doctor - Beats Means Highs (1996)

Steve Cobby from prolific label Pork Recordings is "The Solid Doctor". He has released two full length albums. A year before this album, he released an album called "How About Some Ether?". This was a collected works album from 92-95. In 96, Beats Means Highs is a nice down tempo album with a very beautiful sound. The best song is "Faustian Bargain" due to the very beautiful sample used for lyrics. For the record, Faustian is defined as :" A magician and alchemist in German legend who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for power and knowledge". Listen closely.
