Tex Williams - Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (Collected Works 1945-1950)

Again, sorry for the lack of updates recently, if anyone has any suggestions, requests or questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Now this is a bit out of place but I felt that it needed another session in the "spotlight". This classic is an easy listen with hilarious lyrics, sexism, and old school booze and card games. These songs almost all seem to follow a template. Listen and find out for yourself!

Green Tea - Places & Spaces (2009)

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I just got a job and have been working out the kinks. I will try to be more consistent. This is a wicked album, mostly instrumental with two tracks featuring an underground rapper. I'm not quite sure what his name is, even though it's mentioned in both songs he features on. I'm not too fond of the rap lyrics but it isn't awful. If you like jazzy beats to just sit back and chill out, don't pass this up.

St-Germain - Tourist (2000)

This CD has the finest production, be sure to listen on good quality speakers if possible! 5 years after his first album under the name St-Germain, Ludovic Navarre released Tourist. Shawn Jackson - First Of All Instrumentals (2009)

California based hip-hop artist Shawn Jackson released his album in lyrical and instrumental format. Here is the instrumental album. These are really good loungin' hip-hop beats. It kind of reminds me of Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz series with a hint of Pete Rock's Petestrumentals. I haven't heard the lyrics to this album, but frankly, the beats are good enough to keep me uninterested in the lyrics.

Movits! - Äppelknyckarjazz (2008)

Here's a group that, oddly enough, mix swing and hip-hop with entirely Swedish lyrics. If you can put up with not being able to understand what their saying, I would highly recommend it. The music video for the song "Fel Del Av Gården" is also really entertaining (The lead singer looks like Adam Savage from Mythbusters). Overall, fantastic sound. You might have seen them on the Colbert Report recently cashing in on that "Colbert Bump".
